Ugo Panini (1951-2014)

It has been difficult to face the reality we lost a great man who was an amazing leader, dear friend, devoted father, and loving husband. As we continue to mourn Ugo’s passing, we want to offer a sincere “thank you” to the many colleagues, customers, business partners, and countless other acquaintances who have reached out to us to offer their condolences. Your sincerity and thoughtfulness during this painful time has truly been felt and has comforted us more than you will know.

While we will never forget Ugo, we know he would insist we press on in the business bearing his name. We see no better way to honor his tremendous legacy than resolving to fulfill his vision.

Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, and words of encouragement.

Ugo Panini

The Panini family, our Company, and indeed the world has lost a great man. Ugo Panini, the former President of the company carrying his family’s name, passed away at his home in Torino, Italy during the early morning hours of Thursday, May 15.

Known throughout the industry as a hardworking, creative, and generous man, Ugo worked his entire life in the family business. He earned praise from customers, employees and peers, and garnered great respect from his competitors. When Ugo first took on the challenge of leading the company, Panini was serving a niche market in Italy. His vision and courage to expand to North America nearly two decades ago resulted in Panini’s growth to a global leadership position in financial document processing and payments.

So many people knew Ugo Panini personally as a man of the highest integrity with an unwavering commitment to customers, partners, and the success of the Panini company. Many current and former employees saw him not only as a colleague and visionary, but as a close friend who will be dearly missed. We mourn his passing and commit to honoring his legacy by fulfilling his vision and the tradition of the proud Panini name.
