Panini Announces Remote Deposit Capture Risk Management Web Seminar
Featuring Aite Group Analyst Wes Wilhelm
Dayton, Ohio (June 16, 2010) - Panini, the global market share leader in distributed capture, will host Wes Wilhelm, Analyst at Aite Group, a leading financial services research and consulting firm, to present a WebEx online seminar Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at 10:00am EST, with a second session at 2:00pm EST that same day. The webinar, which will cover key topics related to mitigation of risk in remote capture environments, is available at no cost to Panini customers and partners.
While losses related to remote deposit capture (RDC) fraud are relatively small, this is still a payments application, which means banks must adhere to strict regulatory guidelines while preserving and protecting customer data and transactions. Wes Wilhlem recently co-authored an Aite Group report Remote Deposit Capture Risk Management: Raising the Bar focusing on the fraud and operational risks associated with remote deposit capture (RDC) and how RDC vendors and financial institutions can best manage these risks. “Now is the time for industry participants to begin thinking about the potential risks of RDC while collaborating to manage those risks proactively,” states Wilhelm. Mr. Wilhelm’s presentation, based on his recent report, will review the overall RDC fraud risk environment, examine the fraud risk inherent in customer acquisition, and discuss the importance of monitoring customer behavior for fraud detection.
In addition, Scott Willis, Senior Product Marketing Manager, Panini, will present RDC Risk Management: Technology Considerations. Technology is a critical component of any RDC solution, and there are many factors that should be considered to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with FFIEC regulatory guidelines. Additionally, there are technology features available to further manage the risk. Willis will address the key technology components of a RDC solution and the considerations for a successful, risk managed experience.
